Ryan Morgan, Founder and President
Ryan Morgan comes from a family of very successful entrepreneurs who had endeavors in a variety of industries including real estate development, cosmetic manufacturing, food retail distribution and television broadcast infomercials. Upon his graduation from Niagara University in 1994, Ryan spent a year in Miami, Florida working for his family business, Dan Morgan Associates, where he worked under the close tutelage of his father and mentor Dan Morgan.
In 1995 Ryan had the opportunity to branch out of the family business and pursue a sales/ marketing opportunity with a prominent radio station in Rochester, NY (WMAX 106.7). This move into the advertising/marketing world turned out to be a defining moment in Ryan’s career. His success at the radio station led to him being approached by a group of local entrepreneurs who asked him to help launch a professional soccer franchise within Rochester NY. In 1996, Ryan accepted an offer to help start the Rochester Rhinos. The Rhinos quickly became a major regional draw and their success would lead Ryan over the next five years to hold a variety of positions and eventually become the Vice President of Operations. On the field, the Rhinos won four championships during this time, including the 1999 US OPEN CUP. Off the field, the Rhinos became one of the most successful professional soccer organizations in the country, averaging over 11,000 fans per game. In 2000, they were honored by the United States Soccer Association, receiving the Marketing Excellence award as the best marketed team in the United States.
In 2002, Ryan again was presented with another entrepreneurial opportunity. This time he was approached by a prominent real estate developer who was interested in building a major sports facility in Western NY. The Developer had tremendous knowledge of how to build the complex, but sought assistance on leveraging sponsorship and advertising dollars for the project. Ryan was the ideal candidate to lead this effort due to his experience in both real estate and sports marketing. Ryan accepted the role as the Vice President of Marketing for the sports complex and quickly the Total Sports Experience became a destination point for over 1,000,000 youth sports participants on a yearly basis. Over the course of the next few years Ryan developed substantial corporate sponsorships for the complex, culminating in a prolific multi year naming rights agreement (Unity Health Systems Total Sports Experience).
In early 2004, Ryan decided it was time for him to put all his entrepreneurial and marketing experience to use and start his own company. After seeing the advertising/media industry dramatically change over the course of a several years, Ryan saw an opportunity to specialize in developing and implementing alternative marketing strategies. That is when Marquis Media was born. Ryan created a business plan for Marquis Media and raised capital to launch this venture.
Along with business partner Colin Byrnes, Ryan has grown Marquis Media into a prominent alternative advertising resource to hundreds of clients including Dunkin Donuts, Budweiser, McDonalds, & Verizon Wireless to name a few. Innovative mobile advertising trucks, promo bikes, street team marketing groups, projection advertising and parking garage advertising postings are just some of the many products that Marquis Media has successfully implemented. In October of 2008 Ryan led Marquis Media’s expansion into the Mid Atlantic market by establishing a hub of operation in Baltimore, Maryland. Ryan continued that expansion in January 2009 with the launch of a Marquis Media operation in Florida, where they immediately were called upon to run various promotions at the 2009 Daytona 500 and Daytona Bike week.
